OOT Mentoring
Problems or Conflicts with the Mentoring Program
The Ombuds of Texas mentoring program provides opportunities for any member to work directly with a more experienced Ombuds. The Mentor will maintain consistent communication, providing a listening ear for his/her mentee to ask questions, seek guidance, and develop additional skills. It is the organization's desire that the mentor and mentee both grow personally and professionally as a result of participating in the OOT Mentoring Program.
If you wish to participate in the program as a mentor or mentee, click here to access the form to provide the necessary information to match you with a mentoring partner. After you complete the form, email it to mentoringleader@txombuds.org.  A member of the Mentoring Committee will contact you and intitiate the process of matching you with a mentoring partner.

Within the Mentoring Program,

·      The Mentoring Team will keep confidential the communication about Mentors, Mentees, and how the mentoring relationships are paired.

·      Conversations between the Mentoring Team and Mentors and/or Mentees - Any information Mentors or Mentees share with the Mentoring Team about the mentoring relationships (questions, concerns, disagreements, etc.) will be kept confidential.

·      Conversations between Mentors and Mentees - All communications between Mentors and Mentees about their mentoring relationship and the content of their conversations will be kept confidential unless both agree to do otherwise.

If any complaints, problems or conflicts arise in any way when you’re involved with the OOT Mentoring Program, either as a mentee or mentor, you are encouraged to first deal directly with the other involved party. However, if you prefer, please feel free to contact your Mentoring Team member who helped establish your mentoring relationship or the Mentoring Team Leader.
